About Me

Sarah Jennings, MS, RDN, LD

I received Bachelors and Master of Science in Dietetics degrees from Texas Christian University, where I also completed my dietetic internship. As a registered dietitian nutritionist, I enjoy partnering with clients to help them to achieve their goals. I work with my clients through a trauma-informed and weight-inclusive lens, promoting safety and autonomy and honoring all genders, body sizes, food preferences, and health needs. Because of the important interplay between the many aspects of health, I work with clients holistically on the components of health that matter most to that individual, including physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health related to nutrition and body image, helping clients learn to nourish themselves in a way that works for them and foster a peaceful relationship with food and the body. I can incorporate principles of Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size as well as collaboration with healthcare team and family members as desired by the client, and I have training and professional experience with all of these treatment components.

I have experience working with clients with a variety of nutrition concerns, including eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, ARFID, and other eating

disorders), disordered eating, emotional eating, food allergies/intolerances, athletes and sports nutrition, weight gain and/or weight loss, autoimmune diseases, mast cells activation syndrome (MCAS), POTS, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, cancer, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), and diabetes. I have specialized training in gut health and GI conditions, empowering me to support clients struggling with gut issues and/or supporting mental health through improving gut function and its related gut-brain axis. I have a strong understanding of physiology, enabling me to support clients with medically complex conditions as they navigate dietary changes and/or their relationships with food. I have also worked with clients of a range of ages, including grade school clients and older adults. I currently work as a dietitian in Fort Worth, TX, for an eating disorder Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and in private practice with Our Place Adolescent and Young Adult Health, and I am a member of the International Federation of Eating Disorder Dietitians.

I firmly believe that many clients need highly individualized care and goals and that what works well for one person is not always best for another because of differences in areas such as personal experiences and social determinants of health, individual physiology and medical conditions, and personal preferences. Through study and intentional, evidence-based practice, I strive to meet this need and to provide nutrition services that surpass emotional, physical, and social shortcomings of other nutrition counseling and eating disorder treatment. I am therefore willing and happy to explore and reevaluate any recommendation with you to determine and define what will work best for helping you to achieve your own goals. Using this method, I have worked successfully with a variety of clients, including those who are frustrated with their relationships with food or with other approaches to nutrition or eating disorder recovery, who feel fine and want a professional to ensure that this is the case, or whose families want support for their loved one. I would love to hear your story, too, and work together to empower you with tools to achieve your goals.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, getting together with friends, dancing, playing soccer, painting, playing board games, listening to music, and taking care of animals.
